As with other threads, I don't think anybody would turn down a local benefactor with a load of spare readies to drive us up into the Football League again.
Any ideas of who would be interested?
Duke of Westminster - already invested in the KGV through his charitable arm, maybe he fancies selling a couple of his Mayfair buildings, changing our kit to yellow and green and getting his chauffer driven Roller over to Needham Market next October?
Chris Larson / Leap 76 - put his money where his turkey teeth are already in sponsoring the stadium naming rights. Drives around Blacon in a flash Lambourghini so obviously has the disposable income? Winners breed winners.
Tony Durkin / QHC - always wanted to own Chester City, certainly has a few quid but has been quiet last few years.
Stuart Murphy - philanthropist, owner of wedding cars and bigger picture seer. Maybe the Ric Flair lookalike will return to banish all of our previous misconceptions with a brilliant financial plan and a dream in his heart?
Terry Smith - made a few quid in the states on some radio thing, his old man is/was minted, maybe learned his lesson from last time. Feels like he owes us one and misses the zoo?
I'm struggling now, any more?

Russ Abbott - must have made a few quid with his singing and mad house programme
Gyles Brandreth - loves telling everyone he's from the city, give us something back then Gyles
Roger Moore- the best James Bond and from our city
Russ and Paul (K Klass) - must be minted , they're still raving
Lucy (Granada Reports) - have you seen the hand bags on her, got to be worth a few quid
we need to tap into these funding streams

I know the favourite son of Vicars Cross, Keith Harris has been dead about 10 years but surely Orville must have a few bob left he could invest.

Chester boy Matt Hancock. Diverts government funding to us suspiciously. Turns out he's flirting with Wrexham behind our backs.

Might have to call in a few favours from my old King’s School chums - former Manchester United CEO Richard Arnold is out of a job, and I’m sure he’d love to continue his record of transparent, financially prudent custodianship at his local club.
Get Martin Lewis in as DoF to help us find some bargains in the transfer market, and bring in Ainsley Harriott to sort out the catering.

When Youngy was manager I remember he was mates with Kriss Akabussi and Betty Twaddle the gymnast. Is there any scope to have a summer 'Superstar' event like when Keegan fell off his bike? We could pack out the Deeside Stadium in a bumper family fun day. I'm sure 'Bussi' and Twaddle would be willing to help us out again and it would be great to see Kriss's infectious smile and personality at the Deva again raising spirits around the place. Could Cal get him in as fitness coach? I'm almost certain Youngy was being advised by him and he helped out a couple of times.

I once sold Michaela Strachan a Zig n Zag Zog Pop at Chester Zoo. She told me that she really liked Chester, so maybe worth a punt?

I think people are taking Paddy Seal a little too literally. For me his contribution and always been poetry rather than prose....

Open the stadium for a full weekend and have multiple events there. Maybe a rock concert a football 7 a side competition how about one of those dancing troupe things with dozens of troupes around the NW any other ideas? The ground would be full for 2 full days, people spending money collecting raffles etc etc bucket collection all would be on top of boost the budget worth considering?

I believe John Prescott spent his formative years in Chester, although born in North Wales. Must be worth a shout asking him to sell one of his Jags and pump the dosh into Boost the Budget. Could easily fund three non scoring forwards.

Rick Parry - Chairman of the football league. I heard he was looking at buying a national league club not so long ago. We seriously need to get together in these city fans meeting because fan owned aint going to get us back into the football league being fan owned lets face it its a struggle to even get out of this league with out the right kind of money we are doomed unless we sell to the right investor/buyer.

We are not doomed. We very well may not get back into the league for a long time. But that doesn’t mean we are doomed. We are a financially well run club now. That is light years away from what we once were.

Cup matches against Spurs Man City forest (most of it at the Deva) so not in the 'olden days' either.

Are we a different club? How many on here say “we need to get back into the football league “ and other stuff I have never bought into this ‘new club’ stuff to me it’s the same club or has or history died with Chester city?

Instead of trying to get some rich individual to put loads of their spare money into a club they don't really care about, why not get the supporters to band together and own and fund the club themselves? There's 1000 to 2500 of us, so should be able to raise some competitive funds, if we are serious.
Actually I have been wondering whether we create a two tier ownership model.
Level 1 - minimum of £xx per month. This gives ownership, policy and voting rights as well as priority ticketing options. Similar to current membership.
Level 2 - minimum of £x per month. Associate membership giving priority ticket options.
Apparently we have a load of members who just sign up prior to big games in order to match tickets. Currently they would have equal voting rights over future policies to the active week in week out supporters. Not sure they should. That group may well decide policy against the wishes of the active home and away supporters.
This model also allows us to increase the subscription amounts.
