Most toxic fanbase in non league by a mile. I'm sure Stockport fans were the same when they were stuck in this league for years and still getting 3k crowds and finishing mid table. We're both too big to be at this level but that doesn't mean our players are much better than any other team's. Id say 90% of fans turn up and wanting to cheer the team on but that's been hard recently with little to cheer about. Roughly 10% are absolute weirdos that like to get on player's backs from the start tho. Probably the same at most clubs We aren't too big to be at this level. That doesn't make sense. You could express it another way. Perhaps that given our fan base our league position is surprising but success isn't down to fan numbers or club history. I wish it was but factors such as Management, finances, injuries, player personnel, and even luck need to be factored in.

Just to add my 'factors' above aren't in any particular order...certainly I wouldn't put Cal at the top of the list.

Back to the original topic, I personally hold George Glendon at fault for absolutely everything. You’re joking right? Our top scorer? Who was out injured for the best part of a season and a half to come back and be one of the only players who knows how to actually score a goal. I don’t get the hate with Glendon he’s done well

Screams of League One standard midfielder to me. Go and watch him at Radcliffe next season. You’ll be able to tell them how toxic their fanbase is.

Ultimately Glendon more than likely will be picking the Too Goalscorer Award and I’m sure another award at the end of the season 😁
Overall the strikers department is more the reason why we have struggled this season

Judging by the £45-50k cost of the Brackley fiasco as reported at tonight's CFU meeting the blame lies squarely with the fucking morons who went onto the pitch

Disagree, Roy Keane said Haaland is only a good League 2 player, if we got him on loan he’d knock in at least a couple more than Glendon.

Calum 60 percent Recruitment 30 percent The idiot pitch invaders 10 percent Why do people like you always go back to this well? People running on the pitch has 0 impact on what’s happened this season. £45-50k (not including lost ticket sales) according to last night's meeting - Directly hitting the playing budget. Now I'm no expert in football finances, but I reckon that could have gone a long way to replacing Willoughby's firepower and then some. Cal has specifically said that we need more money to properly compete in this league and the club's official statement last year was:- 'The fine, damage repairs and increased costs associated with the action plan, which include stewarding and policing, amount to more than £30,000, which has a direct impact on our budget, and Calum's ability to assemble the best possible squad.'
But please, do tell how 'people like you' know more about this than the CFC board who actually had to find money to cover these additional costs and the manager who had to work with a reduced budget. Unless you're accusing them of lying to the CFU members and producing false accounts, which is a pretty strong allegation.

I accept that undoubtedly the actions of the braindead few last season has impacted the playing budget this season. However, I'd still argue that the squad assembled is good enough to have warranted a play off position. We were sitting 3rd a few weeks ago and looking pretty nailed on for the play offs but there's been a complete drop off in form. A lack of budget doesn't stop us setting up a bit more adventurous at home and properly work the opposition goalkeeper. I've said it before, but we don't draw/lose games where we've been unlucky cos the keeper has had a blinder, we meekly surrender in these type of games and don't look like we have much idea about how to rescue a game - we're set up to only win when we score the 1st goal, once we go behind we look short on ideas. To summerise, yes the budget is partially to blame but I think Calum would have to accept a bit of blame aswell as the tactics he deploys aren't currently getting the best out of the players at his disposal. Would also suggest the players have to take some responsibility too as we were in a decent enough position and all of a sudden too many of them have fallen out of form and performing below the levels we expect. Calum can set us up in whatever way he thinks, but once they cross the white line a certain amount of responsibility lies with the players - I can't blame Calum for conceding 2 shit goals on Saturday from the sort of balls we've been dealing with fine for most of the season.

This. Assuming we miss out on the play-offs, which I'm not giving up on until the maths make it impossible, then it's a whole combination of factors that have made for a disappointing season including (but not exclusively down to) the hit to the playing budget that the Brackley hangover caused. Cal has to shoulder some of the responsibility for his tactics, as do the players for not giving 100% every time they cross that line in a blue and white shirt. It's why threads like this one looking for a single scapegoat (i.e. CM) are pretty pointless.

It's why threads like this one looking for a single scapegoat (i.e. CM) are pretty pointless. For what it's worth, I've never felt like the players aren't giving 100%. It's a confidence issue which has spread throughout the team, and it's easily done when you're in a rut of bad results. When heads are down you then see sloppy bad habits coming out in their play, like losing markers from corners etc. Was hoping the Buxton game might have put us back on track but as soon as we're back at the Deva we reverted to what we've been for the last few months. I do wonder whether some players have lost a bit of belief in the system they are being asked to play and it's causing a lot of frustration on the pitch. It's a bit of a slippery slope if the players aren't buying into the philosophy of the manager, I hope that's not the case but if it is then Cal's got a big summer on his hands in terms of thinking about his system/approach and subsequent recruitment for next season. Mad to think how poor we were away from home under B&J but at the Deva we were generally a good watch and had a decent record. Under Calum I always fancy us away from home where we're hard to beat and play on the counter, but I fear that he's a little stumped on how to improve our home form. Like others have said, one season of overachievement and looking like one of underachievement, we go again next season where we'll needing to most definitely be looking like a genuine play off outfit otherwise the faith will deteriorate quickly.

I doubt the budget will be much/any higher next season.

I think most fans thought caton would score a bag full this season and it hasn't happened weve hardly seen him really. The keeper and center halfs have been good this season and Glendon has scored a good amount from midfield .the rest just not got going, out of form out injured , and factor in turkeys voting for Christmas ie players know that if we go up there gone promotion was never going to happen

Agree with you 100% about the fact it’s not lack of effort Si players are putting in a shift but look disjointed at home due to the system we play.
