We have, however got the prospect of Suffolk-based Needham Market in this league next season - though if the league saw sense (which, let’s be honest, they wouldn’t), it’d probably be better to put Oxford City in the North instead.

It's likely that either Gloucester or Banbury, if they survive, or Brackley, if they are not promoted, would be moved to NL South. All of them are some way south of Market Needham and north of Oxford.

I think the league could save themselves a lot of debate and controversy if they just adopt a very simple rule that it is based on the line of latitude as the cut off point, 24 of the most Northern teams go in the NLN, and 24 of the most Southern teams go in the NLS. No arguing about motorway routes, no appeals. If that means the likes of Brackley or Oxford maybe swap leagues now and again, then so be it.

It was business as usual today like everything was forgotten from Saturday The disappointment at our own form is understandable but I don't get what you think we could be doing to stop Spennymoor and South Shields winning last night. This constant misery isn't helpful. I'm losing hope myself but you can't just give up. Weirder things have happened than a team that can't score suddenly going on a winning streak. If it makes me a happy clapper to think it's not over yet, I'll take that.

It makes you wonder if the hesitancy and' 'brakes on' approach that you see in home games is because the players have to listen to miserable old gits like this.

It makes you wonder if the hesitancy and' 'brakes on' approach that you see in home games is because the players have to listen to miserable old gits like this. Whatever the reason, I hope tactics change for the remaining five matches. I'd rather go down all guns blazing than miss out through the softly-softly approach, which just doesn't seem to be working. If we do miss out on the play-offs, then these remaining games would be a perfect opportunity to try something different and adopt a more positive approach. I still believe that the squad is good enough on paper (though missing that magical 20-goal a season striker, like most clubs up and down the pyramid) and if we could just stop being so cautious, we're easily a match for anybody in this league. Without writing us off with 5 to play, Cal needs to learn some hard lessons from our performances over the past few months and come out fighting next season. Now that's my bit of doom out of the way - Let's see 15 points on the board in the next few weeks and regroup at Wembley on the 4th May!

NLN final should really be at a neutral venue closest to two final teams never understood why it isn’t I believe it was brought in to give a measure of reward to teams finishing higher up the league. I think the system with eliminators down to 7th place, with lowest placed teams having extra fixtures/ playing away actually works well.

It has to be treated as a mini knockout competition, where each match has to be won. There is nothing to lose in each game now, as a defeat or draw in any of the first 4 effectively as good as puts us out of the equation. Hopefully we are still in it by the last game.

Steve Watson the magician fair play to him. Thought Darlo were dead and buried He was a good manager for us and had the players on his side. Forwhatever reasons he didn't seem to want to stay.
