This is why I wouldn't be surprised if he went in the summer. Easy thing to say, extremely hard thing to do when you live and exist in the same city. His life would be a lot easier managing Rochdale or Kidderminster. Well if he does go it would probably mean he's been tapped up elsewhere as he's still under contract for next season so would be his decision if the club agreed, as we would be entitled to compensation. Agree with this. If he does go, he'll know already. Wont leave and put himself out of work when he has a year left on his contract. Personally I feel if he left without getting us promoted, he'd feel a bit unfulfilled. Rarely does someone get the chance to manage 'their' club. I think he'd regret it if he left at the end of this season, however it ends.

I’m sure there is no one associated with the club who wants success for Chester more than Calum.

Some achievement from our very own Blue. The work Cal puts in, in training, outside of training (analysis on opponents) and match days in my opinion, is top tier. Really good work ethic and bright man. I hope he's here for another 100 games and then leaves us for a lucrative deal at Bayern Munich. Calum has been up against the doubters from day 1. When appointed as first team coach, he was dubbed ‘the cheap option’. Since the days of Neil Young, have any of the subsequent coaches raised the hopes and feel good factor as Calum has? Jon McCarthy, Marcus Bignot, Johnson and Morley? No. Calum has done wonders on a shoestring and deserves more credit than he’s getting. Get behind him and maybe, just maybe he and the squad can get the job done and increase the clubs coffers. I am behind Callum. No manager has brought 'the feel good factor' quite as much as his appointment. He bleeds blue. Always been behind him and he has my full support, as my post stated...

Feel like I’m missing something here. In our poor home performances/results, I have literally not heard one negative shout or frustration vented at Cal from my spot on the Harry Mac. It’s been far more lenient than on previous managers. Everyone who goes to the games love Cal, and rightly so. I honestly think to call our fan base toxic is mad - it’s a few Facebook loons and some old fellas behind the dugout. Exactly this. But some like any excuse to give their fellow fans a kicking. 18 defeats in 100 games is exceptional by any standards and he’s been a very good appointment. Not been sparkling to watch during that time but I think most people have forgiven that as it’s a results business.

Feel the same, I think generally people are very content and Calum has more credit in the bank than most managers can dream of. Anywhere else you are half a dozen games away from the sack. We all had a moan last week as it was really poor but the reaction on the pitch on Saturday was good. Tweaks needed at home, frustration that we seem to keep doing the same thing.
Poor run? yeah you will probably get people moaning, lashing out in the heat of the moment etc. That's life, put it right. The minority who have never been keen, you won't change them, would have a right go at you for winning the league but not by far enough probably. Same everywhere.
Contrary to what some have suggested, this fanbase is no different to any other, it's just the one you know inside out.

It’s such a toxic fanbase so much so that they pump loads of money into the Boost the Budget, buy record numbers of season tickets, travel in their droves to away games, help plug the financial gap by a group of hooligans actions last May. Toxic absolutely toxic.

Quite an achievement by Cal, good luck to him. He is very hard not to like. Can he get us out of this league? Not just knocking on the door in play off territory. I have missed more games in the last few months than I ever have before( Berievement/financial ) reasons. The trouble is I haven’t really missed it, my last game was the Boston , knackered keeper game 😖.Be careful what you wish for they say, so I hope it all clicks again for Calum and he grabs games by the neck and pummels some team soon.

Two years at the end of this season. Contracted until summer of 2026.

Ok, didn't realise he signed a two and a half year new contract, thought it was 18 months.
